Been there, done that!

We are at home with some freshly bought sports gadgets or in front of some fitness DVDs, determined to do it. But it is too much time, the DVD becomes boring and it is easier to hang the laundry on the stationary bike, instead of sitting on it. No deadlines, no pushes, no motivation, no team, just the excuses...

Then we buy a fitness pass, and we go to the gym once or twice, but we are uncomfortable around all the fitness queens, don’t know how to use the machines and it is too embarrassing to ask, not to mention trying to avoid anyone in the locker room and in the shower. So instead of going to the gym, we choose the couch... 

And that’s it, we tried everything. Check. Now we can move towards giving up sports guilt-free. Especially after we had kids. Less time, less sleep, more responsibility, more weight. Our boobs are ruined anyway, what’s the point?

Okay, let’s start here, what’s the point? 

  • We all want to be healthier for our kids, for ourselves. Is this a worthy goal? We think it is.
  • Do we want at least 30 minutes of me-time every now and then? Definitely.
  • Do we want to do something just for ourselves? We should!
  • And yes, we all want to lose some weight, all right. :)

You can access one video at a time, just for two or three days. You have to find those 20-30 minutes within that time window. 

If you have doubt in yourself, or don’t feel like exercising, but the clock is ticking, you can ask for the community’s help! Because at GoMomGo, you are never alone! Write a post in our closed Facebook group, or to your mini motivational team! We are among ourselves! No shaming, just fellow Moms, all in the same situation, struggling to do something for themselves!

A few tips for the smoother start:

  • Don’t overthink, just do it! Get on your mat, turn on the video and do it. There won’t be a perfect time, the imperfect present will work. It will work.
  • Try to work out with the kids around. That way, you’ll have nap time for bigger and better things. For example eating, resting or doing some housework. It may be a little bit harder in the beginning, but they will get used to it. Really. Really-really.
  • I know that we don’t know each other in person, but trust us! We won’t ask you to do anything harmful, we are gently pushing your limits, our trainers are mostly Moms themselves.
  • Don’t hurt yourself! If something hurts or is uncomfortable, please stop! Listen to your body, treat it well! Do less, do the easier version of the exercises, just do it!

  • If you think your question will be useful for others too, post it in the closed Facebook group! This is how we build community, use it freely! Maybe others have tipps, that can help you too!
  • And last but not least, be very-very proud of yourself for every minute you spend on exercising and treating yourself well. You deserve it!
